Chef Robotics escaped the robot cooking graveyard and says it’s thriving — here’s why

Chef Robotics has reached a major milestone: 100 million servings of food produced by its AI-powered robot arms. The company's pivot from fast casual restaurants to food manufacturing has been successful, with enterprise customers like Amy's Kitchen and Chef Bombay on board. According to CEO Rajat Bhageria, the robots deposit "one component" of a meal into a tray, which represents one serving. This milestone marks a significant increase in business for the company, with plans to expand into smaller kitchens, including airline catering companies and ghost kitchens that supply meals for delivery services like DoorDash. The data from these 100 million servings is being fed into Chef's AI models to improve their food handling and packaging capabilities, which will help the company scale its operations further.
