Startups Raise Record $43.6 Billion in Q2 2023
According to a report by CB Insights, venture capital funding for startups reached an all-time high of $43.6 billion in the second quarter of 2023. This represents a 33% increase from the same period last year.
The report also found that the number of unicorns (startups valued at over $1 billion) grew to 432, up from 344 in Q2 2022. The majority of funding went towards tech startups, with 64% of deals made in this sector.
Notable startups that received significant funding include a social commerce platform that raised $250 million and a cybersecurity firm that secured $150 million in investment.
