Google rolls out Gemini in Chrome in 7 new countries

Google has expanded its Gemini in Chrome feature to seven new markets, including Australia, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and Vietnam. The company will roll out this feature on desktop and iOS in all these countries except Japan. This marks an expansion from previous availability in the US, India, Canada, and New Zealand.

Gemini in Chrome integrates AI into the browser, allowing users to answer questions across tabs, utilize Personal Intelligence features, and access services like Gmail and Google Photos for personalized answers. Users can also schedule meetings with Calendar, check location details with Maps, and draft emails using Gmail through this feature. Additionally, users can transform images on the web using Nano Banana 2 in the sidebar.

Gemini's agentic feature, which enables browser automation, is currently only available to paid plan subscribers (AI Pro and AI Ultra) in the US and is still in testing. The expansion of Gemini in Chrome brings Google one step closer to making its AI-powered browser assistant more widely available worldwide.

The company has been steadily integrating AI into Chrome through various features since last year. The latest rollout marks a significant expansion of its availability, reaching over 10 countries with a combined population of millions.
