Meta Rolls Out Global Subscription Plans for Consumers, Tests New Offerings for Businesses and Creators. The social networking giant announced on Wednesday that it's now rolling out its consumer subscription plans globally across its flagship apps, including Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp. For a few dollars per month, consumers can gain access to extra features like profile customization, super reactions, and story insights.
The new "Plus" plans are tailored to each individual app, with Facebook Plus and Instagram Plus focused on social expression, while WhatsApp Plus focuses on personalization and messaging. The prices range from $2.99 to $3.99 per month, depending on the app. These plans don't replace Meta Verified, which is focused on verification, impersonation protection, and extra support.
Meta will also begin testing new subscription plans for businesses, creators, and AI users. For creators and businesses, the company will test two plans: Meta One Essential ($14.99/mo) and Meta One Advanced ($49.99/mo). The latter includes benefits like being featured in Facebook feeds, appearing higher in search results, and automatic follow invitations to engaged users.
Meta AI users will also have access to two subscription plans: Meta One Plus ($7.99/mo) and Meta One Premium ($19.99/mo), with the premium plan offering deeper reasoning capabilities for complex tasks and more video and image-generation capabilities across Meta's apps. These tests will initially be rolled out in several countries, including Singapore, Guatemala, and Bolivia.
