Global AI glass shipments surged 300% in 2025, reaching 8.7 million units, and are projected to cross 15 million this year, according to Omdia. Big Tech companies like Meta, Google, and Apple are entering the market with their own AI-enabled smart glasses. Samsung is set to unveil its first AI-capable smart glasses in July.
South Korean startup LetinAR has secured $18.5 million from investors ahead of its planned 2027 IPO. The company makes the optical module that projects images into a user's field of vision, and claims its technology, PinTILT, can produce brighter images in thinner, lighter form factors using less power.
LetinAR is already shipping modules to customers like Japan's NTT QONOQ Devices and Dynabook, and is in talks with Big Tech companies on R&D of next-generation AI glasses. The company sees itself as a key player in the development of AI glasses, which it believes will become the next platform for everyday life.
LetinAR's technology has been adopted by Aegis Rider, a Swiss deep tech company building an AI-powered AR helmet for motorcycle riders. The helmet is targeting EU and Swiss markets in 2026 and features LetinAR's module inside.
