🎙️ This week on How I AI: I gave Claude Code our entire codebase. Our customers noticed.

Galileo field engineer Al Chen uses Claude Code to query his company's entire codebase across 15 repositories, combining the information with Confluence and Slack documentation. This system allows him to deliver accurate, real-time answers without relying on outdated documentation or constantly pinging engineering teams.

Chen writes a script that pulls the latest code from all repositories daily using Claude Code, ensuring he's always querying current code instead of stale information. He also maintains a "customer quirks" page in Confluence listing each enterprise customer's unique deployment requirements, which his custom Claude Code commands reference to generate tailored deployment instructions.

By combining code repositories with Confluence documentation, Chen's system pulls from multiple sources to deliver answers that no single source could provide. He also uses Pylon to convert detailed customer conversations into abstracted help articles with one click, creating a knowledge base that is more in-depth and current than official documentation.

As a result of this system, Chen has reduced engineering interruptions to near-zero by self-serving answers directly from the codebase, only reaching out to validate answers or when Claude Code can't find information. He also uses AI to make customer-facing teams' jobs easier and to differentiate his company's service quality in a crowded market.
