Growth Hacking

Low-cost experiments to accelerate user growth

Definition

Growth hacking is a mindset and practice of running rapid, low-cost experiments across product, marketing, and distribution to find scalable levers for user growth. The term was coined by Sean Ellis in 2010.

📌 Example

Dropbox's referral program — 'Give 500MB, Get 500MB' — grew their user base from 100K to 4M in 15 months. A textbook growth hack that was product-native.
